The way I see you
I heard that you never truly see yourself
the way people see you
You don’t see
the way your eyes light up
when talking about something you love
or the way the sun hits your hair
and changes its color
the way your eyes and smile
seem to connect and become one
You don’t hear
the way your real laugh sounds
the laugh that causes you to hold your stomach
(you know the laugh)
or the way your voice sounds
when you lie
so high, so fake
You don’t feel
my love filling the air around you
keeping you safe
watching over you
You don’t feel my longing stares
in only your direction, always only in your direction
You just aren’t aware
that I love you
and my love is as deep as the deepest ocean
and as wide as the biggest continent
as tall as the heavens and beyond
My love will always be there
you just won’t be aware
