Spots, gray like an elephant back.
Waiting,
just waiting, for me to come home.
Pitter patter of soft paws on the wooden floors.
Cuddle buddy
during storms,
Waiting,
just waiting, for them to end.
Scraping at the doors,
Waiting,
just waiting, for me to come back inside
and
just like that
you’re
gone.
No more pitter patter,
No more cuddle buddies,
and
No more
Waiting,
just waiting,
for me.
