My Last Day in Ohio
Torn around the edges
Are the gifts left from time
A faded face
In a forgotten place
Brings back happiness
As well as sadness
The face is my own
But from a long time ago
My eyes are dark
Like the space between the stars
Moving day had come
There was excitement but only some
A new horizon awaited me
For the ‘sunshine state’ I would soon see
Looking at this photograph my heart gives a cry
It almost brings a tear to me eye
I could tell you the name of the place I left
But nothing more for I don’t remember it
Torn around the edges
Are my gifts from time
A faded face
In a forgotten place
Are all I have
