Water May Jump
The mind is a pool.
It smells of jasmine
Rippling with consciousness,
Bending and waving.
But it is undoubtedly
Clear.
The heart is a timepiece.
It smells of copper
Does not include mundane mechanics,
Or the dry tick of weary arms.
But it is certainly
Steady.
The hand is a bow.
It smells of honeysuckle
Burdened with quick arrows,
And laced with sweet secrets.
But it is indisputably
Loyal.
The mouth is a shipwreck.
It smells of salt
Encrusted with regret
And flush with apologies.
But it is absolutely
Truthful.
The water of the mind
May jump the sides of the shipwreck.
The arrows of the hand
May strike the cogs of the timepiece.
Mind crosses mouth.
Hand crosses heart.
Do not fear
That the water may jump.
