Dionysus' Chalice
By the suctioning pop I knew it was time
the party has begun and so has the wine.
Now I’m filled to the brim with warm, crimson booze.
A little clink and I’m on to my second drink.
Soon I am emptied and soon I am full again,
intoxication is my new best friend.
Music drowns out the sound of flirtatious laughter.
The guests become raucous and rowdy
as the night sky turns as dark as ink.
My vision is but a blur and my words begin to slur.
What happened next I do not recall,
but from what I heard I had quite a ball.
