Hades and His Helmet of Darkness
Hades and his Helmet of Darkness
I am most comfortable hiding in the shadows,
Undetected in the dark, damp, death-ridden realm.
I remain here, for all eternity, to serve my master
Loyally. Hades manipulates my power to come and go
As undetectable as a whisper. With the gift of invisibility,
Hades becomes a shadow. I watch Hades slowly move
Back and forth, within his realm, watching over
The departed souls. The hiss of the River Styx echoes
In the background, and the sound of the tortured
Souls can be heard from the palace. I feel the cold, but precise,
Hands of Hades on my edges before he lifts me up
To his head. Once I am perched at the top of the Lord of the Dead,
He begins his descent into the realm of all things unknown,
filled with content, being able to move about with relent.
During times of rest I spend my time listening to
the trials of the dead, while the searing white
eternal flames continue to burn. I am left to sit,
eagerly waiting to be put to use by Hades, Lord of the
Underworld, and master of invisibility.
