Learned A Lesson

We all fought for you to live even though the odds were not good.
We brought are prayers at night to heaven door.

Two children wondered if mommy would live.
A husband broken as the days grew longer on life support.

A mother watches her little girl die before her eyes.
A disease of the mind that makes girl crave to be small taken her daughter so soon.

Recovery was so near only about seven days.
A whole family cheered as the girl knew something needed to be done.

An old woman died that same night at the age of ninety five.
The same day my dear cousin went to get her wings at the age of twenty eight.

Flowers were placed of all different kind for a girl so sweet.
Not a single dry eye was in the audience.

Family and Friends all gathered to say goodbye to the sweet little angel.
A mother weeping while her heart shrivels.

As the casket was taken her mother wanted to go with her.
She cried on that brown box for her baby.

Her daughter six year old son walks over to his crying grandma who is on the casket.
With a hug and a kiss he tells her how much she means to him.

I learned a lesson a very hard way.
Never forget to tell someone how much they truly mean.

Goodbye is not always expected.

I had a cousin who I would always see at family get togethers. She was a young mother who had her full life ahead of her. She was beautiful in her sorts of forms. I regret so much not telling her how much I would miss her. I should of seen her more before she died but I can't now.
