“Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia.” ― E.L. Doctorow

There are daisies on my nails
and clovers in my hair.

There's wood that makes up my desk
and I put my heart on there.

There are lillies in my eyes
and daffodils in my soul.

There are fires burning deep inside
and fueling them is coal.

There are tulips on my lips
and seeds sprinkled among my middle part.

There are rocks imbedded inside my brain
but there are roses in my heart.

The author's comments:

I've been thinking about life quite often lately, quite often in fact, for a teenaged girl. I've also been thinking about the concept of nature, and how, we often see ourselves as being the rulers of nature, but then I got to thinking; we have no more control over nature than nature has over us. We are a part of nature, everything lives in harmony. And then, I wrote this.
