Outlasting the Effects of 9/11
The events that happened on this September 11 day
Filled people’s hearts with stress and dismay.
The horrific occurrences that no one saw coming
Had killed thousands of people and was truly stunning.
Not one, not two, not even three airplanes crashed
There were in fact four planes that the terrorists hijacked.
Americans throughout the world mourned and cried
For the thousands of people who have unfortunately died.
With the sadness of the tragedy came strength in numbers
Everyone came together from distant farmlands to the nearby suburbs.
Hand in hand they all worked united as one
Families came together, from mother to daughter and father to son.
Although 9/11 was a day of pain and sorrow
It showed that Americans can stay strong until future tomorrows.
Losing our families might have made a dent
But truly the events of 9/11 have helped us to a certain extent.
It has made the United States more prepared and aware
Of the future threats that might happen anywhere.
We remember 9/11 for the people who gave up their lives
To help make our beloved country stably thrive.
I would like to thank everyone for their support and belief
For without all of you, people like me would still be full of grief.
Let us give a hand to everyone for fighting through this time
I showed my devotion in my attempt to make this poem rhyme.

9/11 was an important event in American history. Although people may have lost their loved ones, they still remained strong. I made this poem to show that a person should always stay positive even in difficult times in their life. Like what the Kelly Clarkson song said: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!"
