I come from
I Come From
I come from a family who is like a broken mirror,
In pieces but still reflecting me
I come from hearing
“Chingao” and knowing Grandpa is somewhere close by.
I come from smelling the aroma of beans and rice
When walking through the front door.
I come from Broken Crayons and torn pictures,
Chocolate milk and cheerios splashed on the kitchen table.
I come from sounds of Whinnie the Pooh
and people shouting at each other throughout the house.
I come from pictures on the wall
Of part-time family who come and go
Like the seasons.
Things can change faster than you want them to
Where I come from.
