Knock of Death
A knock of Death
There was a knock on the door
I let out a premature whimper
I grew limper and limper as time goes by
I begin to Defy my own actions to hide under my covers
I go to the kitchen grab a knife and walk cautiously to the door
I bore the knife so that I was not shaking
I opened the door and jabbed what ever was in front of me
Only to find there was nothing at the door
As if right on cue there was a creak in the floor
there was a laugh outside the door
I could not take it anymore
I was going mad
I’ve been going mad for years!
I had to do something anything about it
and I did I thrust the knife into my chest
and I was no longer in the land of the living
overlooking my body seeing that the knock was just a mere tree at the window
and the creak along with the laugh was my brother coming on the front porch
He opened the door and saw me and screamed
though there was nothing he could do.
