Marks of Life
You can look at my body and see my life
Written in strange marks
The remants of old tan lines
And last weeks bruises.
There are accidental shaving nicks that have yet to disapear.
There are deep gouges made by fingernails in the middle of a dream
There is paint and Sharpie,
Nail polish and pen,
Aquired in all those hours of boredom and ispiration
I have rings to symbolize the Goddess Mother Earth
And Father Sky: her Counterpart
There are pimples on my that show that I am growing
And too much mascara to say
"Look at me"
There are half-healed scars of busted knuckles
And indents in my hands from books
My life is written all over me
In bumps and marks and signs
