Imperfect Perfection
I thought about the relationship between us.
As we lie here, together.
When we laugh together during class.
As you share your greatest hopes.
Along with the darkest depths of your heart.
As we serve detention for being loud together in class.
But you are quiet when I'm gone.
As I worry about you when I don't see you.
When thoughts of us race through my mind.
As your past comes back to haunt you.
And makes you freak about your future.
As your hair falls into your face while we talk.
Or how you like to trace the scars I possess.
As you stand up for me while I sit and hide.
And never ask for anything in return.
How you'll do anything for me.
Or how I'll do anything in my power for you.
Since the beginning, I was blind.
Now, as we lie here, together.
I thought about the relationship between us.
And come up with two things.
You are Imperfect Perfection at its finest.
And I do not deserve you.
But please, please.
Tell me I do.
