Who Are You?
“I’m sorry. Do I know you?
I can’t remember,
Do not take it personally,
I can never remember.”
I do not remember
My childhood,
My family,
My adventures,
Who I am.
Who am I?
Who is anybody?
What are we if not
A collection of experiences
And memories.
I do not have any memories.
Am I no longer a person?
I do not know,
I can’t remember even if I once did know.
The feeling of heavy raindrops,
Rhythmically pounding against my skin,
Is new every time.
The feeling of sun rays,
Embracing me in a blanket of warmth,
Say hello for the first time everyday.
So I am sorry
If I don't recall
Who you are,
Because the truth is,
I don't even remember
Myself anymore.
