Into my dream

I ascended into my dream, slowly and nimbly.
Numbness overtook my senses as I was submerged
In a weightless, blue wonderland.
The ends of my hair gravitated upwards to the surface,
As if frightened by this strange delusion.
My toes tenderly nuzzled down into the blanket
Of sand that covered the ocean floor.
Thin whisps of earth swarmed around me with excitement
At my arrival before settling down at my feet.
With my view now clear, I could see all that surrounded me.
Crisp, azure streams of light flickered against everything
As they slipped through the calm waves above my head.
Dark vegetation peeked out through the sands and rocks
to wave hello.
Gentle visitors came to greet me by gingerly swimming
Around my torso before heading off to their destinations.
Neighbors of all kinds and colors gave me "hellos" and "goodbyes"
And "can I borrow some sugars" in all kinds of fashions.
They asked all sorts of questions as they nibbled my hair and my clothes,
Mistaking them for something edible.
But alias, before I could answer their simple inquiries I was
Whisked away, pulled away, yanked away from my precious acquaintances
And returned to the real world as I broke the surface, now cold and dripping.
