My hands trembled,
I gripped my ice cold bat,
This was my last chance,
This was it,
This was do or die.

For a moment there was silence
Deciphering whether to take the first pitch
Yes,no,yes,no ----
Zoom!
Stee-Rikee one
The pitch came in faster than a cheetah chasing its prey.

My teammates cheered me on
Lets Go Ryan! Echoed from the bench
I stepped out of the batters box
Then cautiously back in.

The fate of the game rested on my shoulders
Looking like a nervous wreck
Silence as the ball approached me
Crack!
The ball was on its way
Searching for a landing strip like a plane in the sky.

I bolted to first
Then I sprang to second
Pondering in my head was the idea of going to third
I rounded the base
My teammate stomped on home plate
We won!  I screamed
A rush of adrenaline  came through me
I Was On Top Of The World!
