Hunting seasons
I sit staring
Feeling the cold fall air blow past me
My dad suddenly says “look a deer”
I look up in excitement...
There stood a small buck
I slowly open the window trying not to make noise
In the silence I pick up the rifle
And I slowly slide the rifle through the window
My cheek against the cold stock
I peer through the scope
There stands the deer
I take aim
I take a deep breath
Trying to stay calm in the excitement
Slowly pulling the trigger...
“Boom”
The deer bolted towards the woods
I sit staring in disbelief
Thinking how could have I missed
But then i hear a faint voice
Trying to understand it over the ringing in my ear
“Re-load, re-load”
But then I look up...
There still stands the deer
In my panic I reload
Trying not to let my excitement over come me
I quickly take aim
taking another deep breath
Slowly pulling the trigger once again
“Boom”
The deer attempts to run into the woods
But not this time
The deer slows to a stop
Falls to the ground like a fallen tree
Laying motionless on the ground
