It Will Be Ok

As my eyes adjusting to the light
Gazing like a blazing fire through my window.
As I sit inside my bed
Organizing the thoughts in my head.
As I walk my feet like lead.
Walking like a zombie.
Wondering what would happen.
As I walk down stairs sluggish and slow
Every step slower than the last.
Trying to remember what my mother said
“It will be ok”
As I walk to the bus
The air cool as ice
The only thoughts inside my head are
“It will be ok”
On the first day of middle school.
