Over a hundrerd poeple coming to compete.

Boy's. Girl's. Everyone.

You get there and see 30 other schools tents set up everywhere you turn.

Gazing at all of the blues, golds, and reds, every color you could possibly imagine, of their shirts, hair ribbons, and face paint.

Trying to memorize every single detail while walking the course, pass the big oak tree, and up the steep rooted hill.

Focusing on doing good in the race and finising strong start to wash through your head as you warm up and the butterflies start to fill your stomach.

But now is not the time.

The annoncer calls over the loud speakers.

"EVERYONE PLEASE CLEAR THE COURSE THE RACE IS GOING TO BEGIN"

Letting those bad fellings escape you as you get mentally ready to go run 3 miles.

At that moment everyone falls to a hush, completly silent.

Thats when you start the countdown in your head.

5,4,3,2.

The cannon booms, and everyone comes to life.

Every single person ouside of those white lines explode with excitment.

Cheering, coaches yelling, peole shouting out good lucks and you're doing great.

No matter where you are in the race you will hear people cheeering you on.

Your team, parents, and maybe even other teams.

You can always tell when the racers are coming, the ground will feel like there is a herd of wild animals coming after you.

Knowing the spectators are cold it's hard to stay warm because when you come flying by you'll create a bitter cold wind that will be pinching at there faces.
