Around Me
Around Me
It was silent. No sound at all.
Stepping outside with the leash wrapped
around my hand tightly, glided down to the collar
of the big dog with its black fur coat.
The quiet air around us flew with nature,
trees, rocks, and dirt roads.
The drift was cold, chilling me to the bone, i was
covered in goosebumps underneath my thin sweater.
Im scared of how quiet it is, Im scared of being alone,
Im scared that somethings gonna jump out and attack me.
Im going on anyways.
“Come on Duke, lets go for a walk.” I say to my dog.
Every step was a crunch of a twig, or a hardness of a rock.
Down on the ground the grass was drenched with dew.
I looked around to capture my surroundings, all i could hear
was the quiet wind and soft sound of the trees.
I heard the birds chirping and the crickets cricketing.
Then stop. Everything just seems to stop.
It was silent. No sound at all.

I was in Upnorth Michigan and all the nature that was surrounding me was my inspiration.
