Arizona Sky
Arizona Sky
By: Samantha Yancho
Watching down from above the clouds,
I see snow capped mountains,
partnered with the dustiest desert sand.
Cactus prongs sharp to the touch,
stared me down,
along every road and every highway,
lining the Arizona border.
Smelling soft pink flowers,
from bushes lining each yard.
I grasped a sweet tender orange,
dangling, just barely,
from a tree.
As I laid in bed,
eyes gazed at the ceiling,
dreams flooded of the brightest star,
hanging in the deepest Arizona sky.
Splashes of color,
awakened my mind,
spreading cultures and customs,
through and out the eyes.
