i come from
I come from...
A generation of
Screwed teens
And
Cell phones.
I come from…
The ghetto...
I come from…
A playful child hood a loving mother,
And a drug dealing father
I come from
17
Siblings
I come from
Losing my
Grandfather
I come
From
Fake friends
I come from
Love
I come from
Hope
I come from care
I come from
Life…
The poetic device that I used was litany. Litany is when you repeat something in your poem in each line. Example, if I wrote a poem and used the word “we” in the same spot in every line (beginning, middle or end) that would be litany.
The writer’s strategy I used was punctuation. Punctuation is what makes your sentence better, whether it may be a period, comma, or question mark.
