Dream big, because inspiration, like fire, spreads rapidly. - Me

My sun, made up of their smiles,
The real ones brushing over my skin,
While the fake are the UV rays in my sky that rain down like hail,
One handful applied,

Their true intentions masquerading behind a lie,
No idea when it could reveal itself like a jack-in-the-box,
I race for my door, to escape their time bomb waiting to detonate,
Two twists to the right,

The struggle masked by their smile,
Hidden by their bread and butter,
But no knife to spread it to others because it was lodged in their heart,
Three personalities and counting,

But pain isn't forever, it dwindles away,
Through that, their smile grows bigger than the stalk from Jack's beans,
With an unbreakable stem that holds their very being together,
Four pedals in the wind,

Gradually their smile returns to them, battle-weary from everyday life,
Realizing the UV rays are no longer present, they do the unthinkable,
They remove their defense against the light arts,
Five blinks until dilation,

Their emotions similar to a teacup ride at an amusement park,
Spinning like a tornado, yet peaceful,
Fast enough to almost fall out, yet slow enough to smile when it's over,
Six dollars for admission,

The sun shines down on us all,
Its phony rays brushing over our skin,
Don’t ever feel like you have to face it alone,
Seven friends you can always call.

I wrote this piece as a challenge from my English teacher. I wanted to test myself to see if I could write a poem based off of random objects I pulled from a bag, each stanza being a different item.
