Little Light
You don't understand
what it's like
to wake up every morning,
and already be dreading the next day.
You don't understand
how it hurts
to hear everyone say
tomorrow will be better.
You don't understand
what it's like to have gone
through so many tomorrows,
and they never changed a thing.
And yet,
I still cannot help but hope
that one day,
a tomorrow will come
that will change everything.
Maybe,
just maybe,
the reason I haven't lost all hope yet
is because somewhere
there is a light.
And maybe,
someday,
I am meant to find it.
I keep thinking,
hoping,
believing this
as the days go by.
But what if I'm wrong?
I don't fear the past,
I don't fear the future.
I fear becoming lost
in the search
for the little light
during the present.
