Broken Faith
I remember how much I cried,
A loud, painful, saddening moan.
My eyes blurred with liquid passion
As I watched the corpse of my great-aunt.
So tame was she, defenseless even to herself
Now at the mercy of the very angels I loved
And believed in
Before they took her from us.
No amount of silence and serenity
Could have calmed me then, the small child
Exposed to unforgiving Death.

I lost all religion the day I saw my great-aunt's body in a wooden box. The flowers and the pictures of her around the church didn't help give me hope about life, and seeing my grandmother and all her brothers and sisters crying broke me even further.
To Auntie Yvie, we love and miss you everyday you're gone. James especially loves you and is deeply impacted by your passing. You should send him a sign sometimes to remind him you're still there for him when he needs his mother.
All the love in the world,
GJ
