its a girl
It’s A Girl
A Picture of the past,
A picture for the future,
Before my time,
I look into my future,
I look at a future me,
A story of a beautiful yet dangerous life,
A picture of mistakes I try to learn from,
A picture of a person in look up to,
A picture of a cautionary tale,
A phenomenal woman she was,
Before all the hurt,
Before loved ones were left behind,
A angel she is now,
A legacy she left behind,
Her life she left behind,
The stories she left behind,
The love she left behind,
Her son and daughter now grown up,
This world she left behind,

I found my inspiration for this poem was a picture of my mother, I got the title from the picture also. In the picture was a picture of my mother at my baby shower, and I saw a balloon that said it’s a girl. My mother passed away when I was 7 months so that’s where the death talk comes in. I used repition, I used punctuation at the end of all my lines. I also use stanzas.
