Butterfly
Wonder shines in their eyes
joy on their faces,
watching the
new butterfly emerge
Delicate
Painted in the colors of the rainbow.
Their breath comes in
whispers
to not scare the butterfly
so new, so innocent
just like the those who watch
it.
Then its wings lift
catching the air
flying away to its new life.
They are
devastated.
There will be more
you promise and they light again
Trust filling their faces
once again filled with the spirit
of innocence.
