The Raven
The Raven stands on a windoe pane
Dark as the night
Still as a statue
Watching...waiting.
The child flails
In his sleep
The Raven watches
Hungrily,wondering
When the time shall come.
The mother comes
And looks sadly at the Raven.
She gathers her thoughts
And nods in acceptance.
The aura of the Raven
Fills the room.
And finally
The child stops writhing
His sould parts ways
With his frail body
As the woman's howl
Pierces the night
The Raven flutters down
And with a shake of its wings
Triumphantly claims the child.
Raven,
Don't you be proud,
You are merely an enemy
Which we will all meet one day.
Raven,
You are the symbol of Death,
You have caused so much grief
You tear families apart
You wear away the best men
You make people kneel at your feet.
Raven,
Remember this:
It may not happen any time soon,
But mark my words, Raven,
You shall be conquered one day.
