Summer holidays

September 16, 2014
By Anonymous

Looking at his science results and his academic report,

the trip to the luxurious resort

being cancelled, tears dripped of his chin

like a kid crying over a stolen muffin

Choking on his tears, as

he thought of what he had done in the past months

Summer holidays had started

Fun days are in sight

While his friend is trying hard

to complete work first

there he is sitting in front of a computer

clicking away, foolishly ignoring the advice given by his mother

Days flew past, swiftly and soundlessly

Like a mouse, sneaking away

While nobody is paying attention

He still did nothing

Other than to spend his precious days on

intense gaming

It was before long, that the end

of summer holidays were nearby

Sides were switched. His friend,

was enjoying while he finds himeself completely

like the lazy grasshopper,

stuck without food during winter.

He, who regretted greatly, for wasting time

on games, instead of revising Science

and doing his work.

He wished deeply, that he could undo everything back

to the start, but it was all too late

to call back a person entering the Heaven's gate.

The author's comments:

2 years ago, I became addicted to a game a friend of mine introduced me to. I woke up during midnight and played it, and played non stop. I did not complete my homework properly, but i didnt care. Even when my mother found out and advised me not to play anymore, i did not care. In the end, I did badly for examinations instead of clinching the first position in class.
