Maths
It saddens me how the world can so easily be reduced to numbers.
It seems so complex, it seems cruel to just dumb it down.
Theres no room to breath, you’re either wrong or right.
There’s no room for mistakes,
but mistakes are what makes the world so great.
It’s so simple, when complexity is so much more amazing.
A living thing with a pulse can be interpreted into a heart rate.
A train swooshing by can be changed into passing at so many miles per hour.
Growth is changed to height difference in inches.
Math changes magic into a science.
It gives an explanation to your amazement,
to the point where you’re no longer amazed.
When you’re surprised, or confused, it shows you the numbers.
I don’t like the numbers.
