The Little Birds
A small seed can blossom into a beautiful tree
Whose effervescent leaves
Combine with the wings
Of a tiny bird
That tries to fly away
No one wants to feel trapped
Look at the girl
Who dates a boy
That wants her to do things
Try things she knows are wrong
But
She longs for the false sense of love they both thrive off of
Secretly
She longs for
The same freedom as the bird
And one has to wonder
How do the trees know how to grow
And why does she stay
And fill her lungs with smoke
And honestly
Why do you care?
