The “C” Word (Fault In Our Stars)
Cancer, the dreaded "C" word,
A silent killer you really are,
You are like the unseeable,
But yet, you touch us all,
Touching the living with your deadly hands,
Marking them, like putting up an advertisement,
For a horror movie, and like so we are either watching it or we are in it,
You’re the one who’s holding my fate in your death grip,
But who said I will surrender to you?
Accepting you is like giving you the right to end it all,
But who said that you can hurt my family this way,
My mom, dad and my dear Augustus they love me the most,
There is nothing more worth living for than for them.
For Augustus I know I am his everything,
I see it in the how he looks, smiles and the way he holds me,
When Augustus' cancer returned,
I promised to stay by your side, but you left me,
But i will always remember that our 'okay' will be our “always.”
