Girls like me
Girls like me
Are suppose to be the comedic relief
We're suppose to be the people who make others laugh
By making jokes about ourselves or letting others joke about us
we're not suppose to but the main characters
We're not suppose to be the main characters till we lose fifty pounds
Then we can be the main characters
Then we are allowed to be happy
Then we are allowed to be confident
Then we are allowed to get the guy
And when we work up the confidence to talk to him
We're suppose to get laughter out of the room
I've seen all the tv shows I've read all the books
I know how the story is suppose to end
I know how the plot goes
Because girls like me aren't suppose to live happily ever after
Not in this society
Because girls like me are suppose to spend their prom night in tears
Because who would want to embarrass themselves with me
Because none of the dress fit
And I know how the story is suppose to end
Because they tell us
There are no other options
Besides losing fifty pounds
Or a bullet to the brain
For girls like me
There is no just be happy
Or love who you are
There is no model
For us to look at on the cover of magazines
We are not just empty voids
Vacant of all emotions
We hear the names you call us
And if not from you than from others
We're people to
But for me
And those who look like me
There is suppose to be no happy ending
There is only suppose to be humiliation
There is suppose to be tears
Because we don't feel worthy
Because we're told
Over
And
Over again
That only pretty princess live happily ever after
