When in the dark

the lights shine brightest

for pain and suffering 

somehow create hope

and out of this

people come together

Is it the common goal

or the common pain

that causes us

to think the same?

People can unite

and conquer anything

but why do we need 

a war or disaster 

to realize this?

Is it our nature

to help those 

only when in need

or do we picture

ourselves as desperate

and broken?

If only the lights are 

as noticeable 

during the daytime,

for the lights never

stop shining,

it only takes 

darkness to see them
