Remember Those Days
I remember
Watching the stars
We laid a blanket
Dreaming about mars
I used to hold you
Watch as you played
With all your toys
Until you fell asleep
In my arms
You were safe
I wish that you
Could remember those days
We used to laugh
About everything
The world was a game
We wanted to play
I used to dress you
In my old clothes
You always squirmed
When I applied rouge
I used to feed you
From bottles and jars
Mashed peas and carrots
Rice cereal and vanilla pudding
You just wait
And maybe someday
I’ll show you the tapes
That mom used to make
The box is filled
And you know what
Most of them
Are of us
I remember
Watching the stars
We laid a blanket
Dreaming about mars
I used to hold you
Watch as you played
With all your toys
Until you fell asleep
In my arms
You were safe
I wish that you
Could remember those days
