We are so benumbed that we march off to war without tears and without terror in our eyes

<div>

With broken minds, we grasp to the thought of one day, the violence that haunts our souls like a killer, cloaked in darkness; will end completely.</div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

With aching hearts, we wept over our fallen brothers as they held onto us tight, not wanting to be taken away by the reapers who stalk through the night.</div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

With tired legs, we fall to our knees. We long for all the suffering to cease. </div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

With bloody hands, we pray to our gods to put us out of our misery as if we were a horse with a broken leg.</div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

With severed limbs, we yearn to hug our loved ones. </div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

With blinded eyes, we try to see the faces of our children who cling to our ragged, muck covered uniforms. </div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

With empty stomachs, we beg for food from passerby's who look down at us with shame and disgust.</div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

And with our backs to the wall, we try to comprehend the magnitude of the shear amount of blood that has been spilled into the earth. </div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

And with our eyes to the sky, we try to see the gods who have watched us murder our brothers and sisters in cold blood without lifting a finger to stop it.</div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

And with our ears against the ground, we listen to the silent screams of our brothers who we buried. They are calling out our names, they are calling out their god's name, they are calling for anyone to help them. </div>
<div>

 </div>
<div>

And with our backs against a mattress, we listen into the night air, we hear the ticking of the clock, we hear the wind blow, these sounds will fade away soon. But the sound that will not fade away is the sound of millions upon millions of decomposing corpses and souls screaming and banging their hands against our skulls, trying to break free, trying to find peace, trying to find their wives, children, mothers, and fathers. They are just trying to find a way to end the chaos and misery, we are just trying to end it all.</div>
