The Bank Thief

The night was dark
The sky was gray
And the clouds were there to stay
And on this fateful midnight night
One man ran up to say,
"The bank's been robbed! The bank's been robbed!"
A visit was paid by evil itself that day
The townsfolk gathered close and near
At the old church square
They muttered and stuttered
Until a butterfly fluttered
Close to one man's ear
The people steered clear
For up came a horse near as could be
It's rider it's host
Much like a ghost
And the people gasped in fear
For this strange newcomer
Added a new odd number
In the events that had taken place
She called to the people,
"Why do you gather at this steeple?
Your money is gone.
Your things are too.
You want them back?
Ha! Well that I can do.
My name is Sky,
And I'll be your guide.
Give me supplies
I'll give you the rest.
Don't you worry.
I'm one of the best."
She dismounted in style
Took a little while
And headed out the streets
The men followed the raven haired girl
For off they wallowed
Sinking in sorrow
For the money that had been lost that day
And the fact that they were following
A girl for goodness sakes!
It was hard swallowing
The truth was that though they were strong
Sky was a leader
And the journey would be long
Walking and grumbling
They made their way to
The flat open vistas and a plain air view
Taking in the sight, one man happened to see
Sky's pocket fall open
And out came for all to see
A wee little dollar
With two zeros and a one on it indeed!
