Roar of a lovely engine
Speeds beyond light
Blood rushes leaving knuckles white
Clutching the worn lifeless seat
Eyes glues to the plastic window
Problems futile from 30,000 feet
Clouds dance about the sky full of secrets
Lush scenery sail smoothly below
Artificial harsh air whispers against cold skin
Elevation makes untouched emotions emerge
Thinking of the loved ones passed away.
Is this what heaven looks like?
Eyes get heavy with curiosity
Heartbeats slows to a velvet rhythm
Mind travels into a peculiar world
Full of colors, tastes, sights unknown
Gentle rocking of turbulence
A jolt of energy awakens you veins
City lights reflect in your naïve eyes
Fresh breath of air billowing into your lungs
Bringing you home.

There is something so beautiful about going thousands of feet into the air.
