The Ghost of Me

Always a mystery
An unsolvable puzzle,
A blank space missing
A stab in the dark
A veil over her true identity
Her secrets locked away in the deepest chest
An impossible calculation that can never be solved
She slips into the crowd-
A number, a name,
But never an identity
A missing person gone unnoticed
A book without any words
A borrowed smile
A recorded laugh
Speech dictated by a written script
Just a puppet held on strings
Turning away,
She then fades into the shadow of who she could be.
