Calm Desert Tempest
The sun rests in a cloudless sky
 Overlooking the mountain's shoulder.
 Lilac petals die of thirst.

 Marble is power, hard, unforgiving,
But gradually, boulders tumble to their slippery end,
 Becoming sand.

At night, the wind whispers through the crevasses.
My only view is that of the barren sea.

My eyelids are coated with dust.
