To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you are the world.

She loved two brothers.

One she loved by day,
He truly believed she’d never run away,
Believed it was him and only him,
That she left in disarray,
Hooked by invisible chains.

The second she loved by night,
But vanished before the light,
Invisible chains hooked around his neck,
So that he wished he could follow her steps.

The second brother understood,
He could never follow her through the door of wood,
She haunted his sleep,
He hated it,
But her secret he’d keep.

It had been some time,
But the first brother sensed her distance,
He realized her crime,
In a fit of fury,
He followed her in her nightly journey.

She sidled into the second brother’s home,
Her silhouette gleaming,
He let his eyes roam.

The first watched from the window,
He couldn’t believe he was witnessing such a sin though.

Before she could collide with her stolen love,
The first brother found him,
He swooped in from above,
They screamed obscenities,
Violent to extremities.

The second brother,
Killed by lies,
Looked one last time into the liars eyes,
And he couldn’t believe what he saw.

He cried out to his brother,
Run,
He didn’t know she’d brought a gun.

The first brother,
Killed by lies.
Never got to look into his killer’s eyes,
Never had to face what he couldn’t believe again.

She tossed their severed chains aside,
And disappeared into the night.
