"There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed." - Ernest Hemingway

These leather seats, all ripped and torn.
A faint smell of smoke in the air.
A scruffy driver, with a cap on his head.
And let down your window if you dare the sounds of the city.
All aboard this yellow cab.
They hold stories through the ages,
and can sing songs of times before.
A couple just married,
or strangers destined to meet.
All aboard this yellow cab.
A drunken man, with nowhere to go.
Or a wealthy woman, with everywhere to be.
A haven from the downpour,
or a shelter from the heat.
All aboard this yellow cab.
A boy with some flowers, ready to engage.
Or a man with a bare finger, ready to move on.
A girl on her way to her prom.
Or a woman who wishes she didn’t go wrong.
All aboard this yellow cab.
A writer on his way to publish his first book.
Or a dancer on her way to perform her first recital.
An actor on his way to his one hundredth audition.
Or an artist on her way to present to the critics.
All aboard this yellow cab.
A group of hopefuls,
A group of crushed dreams.
A frown on one’s face,
A smile on another’s.
All aboard this yellow cab.
These different people,
all high and mighty,
or low and tiny.
They all open the door to a new destination, a whole new world.
All aboard this yellow cab.
Sit on these leather seats.

I always ask the question, "What's your story" because everything and everyone has a story. Even the seats of a cab.
