pyromaniac
I’ve started lighting fires
since you’ve been gone and the click
of a light has become my
 comfort noise.

Headlines go up in smoke and
hay bales burn to the ground
but with each spark I imagine
 the flames licking my fingers,
 singeing my hair,
I long to be overtaken by the
heat the way your lies of love
 burned holes through my heart.
