the lumberjack's deceit
I used to believe the lie that
 women are more manipulative than
men with our clever minds, sweet
 tongues and alluring bodies but
 there is something disgustingly
 cunning about faking love.

 You bought my heart with
 acts of sincerity and affectionate
 words then placed me back
on the shelf. You told me that
you led me on but I feel
as if I am a once healthy
tree felled by you only to be
left to die. You took pieces
of me that I can’t get back and
 now I am incomplete.
