Bones
Lost little girl, the pretty one welcomes
If you were skinny, they’d help you, love you, admire you
But I am, the girl answered
The pretty one sneered and showed the girl her every flaw
The little girl cried and cried at how ugly she was
Help me, she called out to the pretty one
Just put the food down, it’s only calories
Are you sure, she asked, is it healthy
Do you care, the pretty one asked, the little girl shook her head
Only bones, fragile bones
Finally tiny, finally pretty, but only to the poor little girl
The mother cried, the doctors tried, the little girl died, and the pretty girl smiled inside
