BEING ME
Maybe I'll be normal enough one day,
To enjoy life's greatest joys,
Maybe I’ll not be afraid to step out
And maybe I'll be for once,
ME.
Maybe I'll get a chance to fall in love
Or even go around dancing in the rain.
Maybe I'll be just as happy as I seem to be,
And maybe I’ll be able to withstand every huge storm,
But that would be,
UNLIKE ME.
What if I could just skip the rest?
And just drop almost everything else?
To enjoy seeing a bird take flight,
And sleep soundly every night?
I wish I could be,
But that's NOT ME.
