Sun-faded Memories
And soon the boy in her poems
became merely a silly boy.
She began to let go as she forced
her mind to fade the memories
lurking in the back of her brain.
She began to let go of the pain
she cause herself to feel by
allowing him to read her pages.
She began to let go of thoughts
of the two of them as one.
She knew she shouldn't get attached.
She tried to stop, but she couldn't because,
although she knew she would
never be more than just a friend to him,
she couldn't deny the temptations.
And as she let go of her anchor,
She started to smile at different things.
She found happiness in being alone.
She saw the sun shine a little brighter.
She opened her mind to new things.
She made her own happiness.
And that boy, he's merely a silly boy.
A memory fading like a toy left in the sun.
