All I know now
Everyday, I wish I were born knowing all I know now.
I wish I was born knowing the person I am
knowing the person I was meant to be.
I wish I was born understanding all
I understand
about the world
today.
Born knowing how to deal
with every challenge
that was to be thrown my way.
But if I had been born knowing all of this, there wouldn’t be any knowledge left to learn.
There would be no need for
improvement
no way to climb higher
no way to become more than I am right now.
If I were born knowing everything
understanding everything
I wouldn’t have anything
to strive for
nothing to work for
no purpose to even be alive.
And if I had known all there is to know when I was born
and there was nothing to work for
nothing to take me higher
the only place
I would be able to go
is down.
