Lost Innocence
Innocence
 Has climbed
 Out the window
 Along with the age of
 Long-limbed
 Scrawny
 Dove-chested
 Childishness
 Innocence
 Stretched tight over ribs
 Sternums
 Collarbones strain
 Smooth
 Like a Native American drum
 Tinkling laughter and
 Sensitive tearducts
 Snags
 A stitch of clothing
 On the windowsill
 Goes toppling out
 Quicker than I
 Eyewitness
 The girl with
 Previously lost innocence
 Expected it to fall
 Chipped paint flies
 Raining down on the still-pure
 Than the blissfully ignorant
 Who slumber below
 Unanticipative
 Of when their time
 Will come
