before the gull returns

a gull leaves port
and takes to the sky
where the clouds reign as
regal wisps of dreams

upon the clear blue seas
where ripples dance away
toward a sailboat passing by
people wave "hello, hello"

their white sails and
our white dreams
all float upon
the clear blue seas

we will navigate the seas
with their white sails
to find our white dreams
before the gull returns.
